Raychel Vendetti out at WSEE
Erie-Meadville: During today's "Newswatch at Noon" newscast, anchor Raychel Vendetti announced that she will no longer with WSEE. This is due to the several layoffs at WSEE as the station moves into the WICU building by June 1st. The consolidation of services means that some very talented people both on and off air will be at the unemployment line. It's unfortunate that Raychel will be one of those in that very line. The on air chemistry between her and station Meterologist Ray Petelin during "Mornings Live" was not phony and attracted a lot of viewers back to WSEE after the station lost its luster a few years ago. Their Facebook page is solid proof of that. I can only compare the show to the "Captain Dan & Allan" show that was on the former "Froggy 94.7" until early 2007. Too many newscasts are serious in nature and should be when events warrant it to be serious. However, to see a unique newscast with some lighter moments thrown in made it easier for viewers to wake up and get on with their day. My best wishes go out to Raychel and others who were hit by the recent layoffs at WSEE.Readers’ Forum
This is horrible news!!!!
We will miss you Raychel . . . you and Ray were the best team on Erie TV!!!!
I absolutely can’t stand WICU’s lame morning show. Looks like I’ll just quit watching the morning news from now on.

I’m very sad to say that WSEE/WICU has made a terrible mistake. I truly feel they will see a dramatic decline in viewers.

Raychel Vendetti you will be missed. It is a shame, Ray Petelin now looks like a fish out of water. I am sure he will be the next to go. I will not watch WSEE Morning news anymore….I guess you can say “I fired them” Raychel
you got a raw deal. You are Great Talent, I am sure you will do much better then WSEE. Oh Yea’ where ever you go take Ray with you.. He needs YOU!!

Raychel was an example of a very successful, non assuming woman. She was also an excellent example of how someone can overcome adversity. There must be others with less seniority that should have been let go. BRING RAYCHEL BACK!!

I will no longer watch WSEE. Sorry, Ray but I need to see you both. No offense to the new girl but she can’t replace Raychel.

Dear Raychel,
I thought you were on vacation. My husband and I are so sorry that the station cannot see what they had . You are a VERY GOOD news anchor, and a very special lady. We love you and hope they will call you and Ray back …... We enjoy the two of you so much. You made the morning so enjoyable. Looks like we may have to change channels
PLEASE BRING RAYCHEL & RAY BACK !

Sorry to see you go Raychel. Another example of bringing on fresher (read as: younger and cheaper) talent.

How very very sad? Raychel was such a terrific person who made the news worth watching…. I had to google what happened to her because my 17 year old son loved watching her and Ray. He now does not care to watch the news, he only watched it because they made all news, big or small interesting. Not to many teens watch the news. What a mistake WSEE made. We now watch FOX news. Some people dont know how valuable some are until it’s to late. I will be looking for you Raychel as will my son. Good Luck to you in your future endeavors.

I want to thank all of you so very much for all the wonderful comments. Ray and I put a lot of energy into that show and we enjoyed every minute of it. I’m glad to see that you did too. We tried to mix things up a bit and add some humor to attract a new audience, young and old. Leaving the station was hard. I miss working with Ray and I miss all our friends who were laid off in that transition. I am in a better place now working for myself and starting a new company with a former co-worker and friend. Knowing that I made an impact on your morning really makes an impact on my life. Thank you all.
