RTV being swapped for ME-TV

Pittsburgh: Effective June 13 of this year, WPXI-TV (11) will be replacing Retro TV ("RTV") on Channel 11.2 with ME-TV. Me-TV also airs old reruns, but likely a different selection than RTV. "ME" apparently stands for Memorable Entertainment and first aired on Chicago station WFBT (now WWME-CA 23) from Noon - 3:00 p.m. It would later expand to WDJT-TV in Milwaukee and in late 2010 went national with Metro-Goldwin-Mayer handling distribution. It is in direct competition with RTV. Me-TV is owned by Weigel Broadcasting who, together with MGM, also operates ThisTV which is carried on WTAE-TV's (4) secondary channel 4.2.

I wonder if sister station WTOV will also drop RTV

Living in Chicago where MeTV originates, I’ve seen both RTV (WPVN 24.1) and MeTV (WCIU 26.3) and MeTV has a much more solid lineup.
There is another Chicago-based network, Antenna TV, that is much like RTV and MeTV.

RTV has been a habitual 10pm tune-in for the Rockford Files weekdays and Jack Benny Sunday.

There is a low-power station in Hartford, Connecticut, WRNT, that receives the Retro TV feed from WPXI. (WPXI’s call letters can be seen during the hourly station identification.) I wonder if this means that, come June, WRNT will have to get the Retro network feed through some other means, or if WRNT might also drop RTV for Me-TV. In either case, WRNT puts out a very snowy, nearly unwatchable analog signal.

In response to Jason’s comment, I wonder if WJAC’s digital arm will lose RTV also.

RTV is one of the few channels I watch!! Guess I’m just to old school, lol!! One of my favorites on there is “Emergency”. I hope ME-TV has a similar or better line-up!!!!

Looked at the line up- not bad, but I will miss Emergency, Quincy and Jack Benny. Don’t know if I will watch near as much as I did retro tv.

I have watched RTV long enough. It’s time to air some new shows. I’m looking forward to the change.

If you can snag one of the WBGN signals off-air, RTV now is the third subchannel (RF 16.3, virtual 59.3 in the Allegheny County area).
