Rehkopf, DelSignore headed to WNEW

Pittsburgh:

Matt DelSignore joins Bill Rehkopf as both head down to the new WNEW-FM (99.1 Bowie MD) where an all-news format will begin January 19. Rehkopf has already made the move and tells the Post-Gazette, "I thoroughly enjoyed KDKA, but this was a career move within the company and a challenge that, in the end, I really couldn't turn down." Meanwhile, DelSignore's last day at KDKA will be January 16.

WNEW will go up against all-news WTOP-FM (103.5 Washington, DC).

What happened to WNEW in New York? Seriously, WTF?

OK, maybe not seriously…

OK, not so seriously. Still …

WNEW Radio became WBBR, Bloomberg’s business news station on AM 1130 in New York.

WNEW-TV5 became WNYW-5 under Fox ownership.

New York’s WNEW-FM was bought by Westinghouse (now CBS) from Metromedia some two decades ago.
It now is WWFS-102.7.
