95.9 Kiss FM goes HD
Youngstown: For over a year, Cumulus CHR WHOT 101.1 "HOT 101" was the only Top 40 outlet broadcasting an HD signal in the Mahoning Valley. Well that is not the case anymore, Crosstown rival Clear Channel CHR "95.9 Kiss FM" WAKZ is now also broadcasting an HD signal. However, the station is not broadcasting a second channel like sister stations "Mix 98.9" (Smooth Jazz) and "93.3 The Wolf" (Blues) as of yet.Readers’ Forum
Why do you ignore the public radio station in Youngstown WYSU, 88.5? They have been broadcasting a second channel for almost a year.

Beacon Broadcasting’s Freq 107 has been streaming live online since last Friday at http://www.freq107online.com
If you listen at the top of the hour to the station’s legal ID, it technically is not legal. “WEXC, Freq 107, Greenville – Warren” does not follow FCC regulations because “Freq 107” is inserted between the call letters (WEXC) and community of license (Greenville). The channel number and/or the name of the licensee are the only things allowed betweeen “WEXC” and “Greenville”.

A station not giving a technically legal ID … why does that not surprise me. I was in commercial radio in the early 1980s when the industry was entering its deregulation bend, and trying to enforce even such simple FCC rules as legal/local ID’s not using red or green ink on transmitter logs was like trying to tell the inbred who announces Penns Manor football games to stop giving the scores ass-backwards.
